Wolf Pack League Rules

Hi and welcome to the Wolf Pack League

The most important thing here in the Wolf Pack is to have fun and treat everyone with respect!
This includes non-league players! Anyone who uses the lobby is a potential member, so remember to treat them just as you would a league member!

LEAGUE SPECIFIC RULES

  • When in a ladder game or tourney game, no force forfeiting is allowed! PERIOD! If you do you will be DQ'd from that tourney, or if in a ladder match, it will be considered a loss.

  • In all ladder matches, the loser reports the outcome of the game. The 'Report Loss' can be found at the bottom of the main league page. If you haven't already, save the league page to your favorites. That will make it much more accessable for checking the tourney calendar, tourney jumping and all other league features. The league address is:
    www.myleague.com/wolf_pack
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact a staff member.

  • Boot Timer:
If you are booted from a tourney game, you have 10 minutes to return to the lobby.
If your opponent gets booted, it is your responsibility to inform the host so they can start the boot timer.

If a player is not playing after the force forfeit comes up you are to tell the host ASAP. If they have ping they have to play ASAP or they will have to resign the game. If they have no ping, but appear to still be at the table, they have 5 minutes.

At the beginning of a tourney, if a player has to reboot, they have 10 minutes to return from the time their pairing is called.
The host is to start timers immediately on all booted, no ping and rebooting players.
During teams, if one player is booted, the remaining player may play both seats until the booted player returns.
If the booted player doesn't return, the remaining player can decide whether they want to continue playing solo or be taken out of the tourney.
HOWEVER, leaving a teams tourney and not coming back voluntarily is NOT allowed!
If you leave two times in the same week, you will face penalty box time.
If you continue to leave teams after you have been boxed, you will be kicked and banned from the league.
Absolutely no table talk or instant messenger chat is allowed during team tournaments between team members.
You may discuss strategy prior to the game.

  • Cheating:
Is not allowed, no use of programs or online dictionaries to help you with your words.
Most of us in the league are adults!
Please do not ask what words mean if they are smaller than 6 tiles!
If you want to know what they mean, when the game is over, go look it up!
You may ask if the word is 6 or more tiles.
Your opponent must then give you an answer ASAP.

If it is in a timed game, you must ask on your timer, not on your opponents.
If they don't answer when asked for a definition, you must report to the Host ASAP.
The Host will then ask for a definition and verify that the definition is correct.
The definition does not have to be a word for word answer.
If the Host tells them to give a definition and they don't, they will be DQ’D from the tourney and sent a formal warning.
The length of time given a player to respond with a correct definition during a tourney is up to the Hosts best judgement.
No matter what, all HTD's and Admin should always defend and respect that decision made by the Host.
If they give the wrong answer, or is the Host thinks it is the wrong answer, it will be further investigated and then decided if they gave the wrong answer.
If they did give the wrong answer, they will be sent a formal warning.

If you get more than one (1) formal warning on cheating, you will get penalty box time.
If it happens again, you will be kicked and banned from the league.

Confronting of a member needs to be done by two (2) staff members; not a TD and league member.
All confrontation on the issue of cheating is to be done at a private table or in IM conference and may not include anyone other than the accused and staff members.
If there is a confrontation held in meeting: the staff; including all Admin, HTD's and TD's must be notified of the results within 24 hours of the meeting via email or IM.

The decision to boot a member from the league is a decision that must be agreed upon by a minimum of two staff members, one of which must be an Admin.

  • We are all to show respect to fellow players at all times!
If you are disrespectful to anyone, member or not, you will be reported to an admin and sent a formal warning. If you continue to be disrespectful, you will be given penalty box time. If the behavior continues after that, you will be kicked and banned from the league.

All reports will be investigated. However, there must be proof in all reported complaints. Please send all complaints as email to an admin! DO NOT complain to staff in messenger or in the lobby.

  • Tourneys:
Please try to be in the lobby at least 5 minutes prior to the start of each tourney in which you are playing! That way the host knows you intend to play. If you are not present at the beginning of the tourney, you will be put on a 5 minute timer. If you do not show up by the end of that timer, you will forfeit that match. If you are not there by the end of the first round, you will be removed from the tourney. NO EXCEPTIONS!

In a true swiss tourney, everyone plays all rounds. However, if you need to be removed after the first round, it is your responsibility to notify the host. Please notify them in messenger instead of in the lobby, as they are busy and may not see what you post in the lobby.
If you were not able to notify the host before they advance, and you still need to leave, that is fine. You will just forfeit that match and then be removed from the tourney.
This does not apply to team tourneys!
You must play all rounds! If you cannot play all rounds in a teams tourney, please do not join!

  • Outside Games:
No outside games are allowed during a tourney! You may not be at another table while in a tourney, except to watch while waiting for your next pairing. If you are in an outside game when your pairing is called, you will be DQ'd from that round and sent a warning.

  • Table Settings:
You must set the table as the host has announced and set in the rules for that tourney. All tables will be set to protected with 3 minute move on for self timing. No tables are to be set private unless directed by the host.
Anyone is allowed to watch a tourney game, as they may be a potential member. However, if they become to distracting, you may ask them to leave or boot them from the table. You may not boot a league member! If they are being distracting, you must notify the host in messenger and let the host ask them to leave the table.

  • Ignoring:
There is to be no confrontation in the lobby! If there is negative conversation in the lobby, you are to ignore it. If you do not know how to put someone on ignore, ask the host for assistance. When you put someone on ignore, you will not even see what they type.

  • Subs:
No subs are allowed at this time during team tourneys.

  • Hosting:
During a tourney, the hosts decision is final!
If an admin is present, and deems it necessary, they may at anytime box or kick a member for an infraction of any of the rules.

  • As this is a new league, new rules may be added.
